The Grantham Bollard

CIS Street Furniture were approached by South Kesteven District Council in order to restore some important history back into the market town of Grantham. In the early 1900s a bollard was made for the town in Cast Iron. Over a period of time the number of bollards reduced, many were melted down during the 2nd world war. Two remained outside the parish church. In 2004 the council decided to reintroduce the bollard back into the town.

The council provided an existing bollard in order for a new pattern to be manufactured. Pattern making took just three weeks and soon many more bollards were making an appearance in the town. Some bollards have been modified for use as cycle stands, and a whole range of street furniture has now been designed for future projects including:- Rail Posts, Finger Posts, Information Boards and traffic Sign Posts.
